Biography: Barton Smith, MD, FACS, is a board-certified general surgeon with TriCities Surgical Associates in Colonial Heights, Virginia. Dr. Smith graduated from the University of Virginia for both his undergraduate and medical degrees in 1978 and 1982, respectively. He completed his internship at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia, in 1983, and his residency at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C., in 1988, upon which time he returned to Central Virginia. Dr. Smith has been caring for patients in the TriCities community and working in partnership with Dr. Rayudu Jujjavarapu since 1988. He is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
