Biography: Lakshmi Kannan, MD, is board certified in endocrinology and obesity medicine. Dr. Kannan is deeply committed to caring for all her patients. She is particularly well-versed in treating diabetic patients, as well as those who are affected by thyroid disorders, obesity and more. She treats patients ages 18 and up. Dr. Kannan is the daughter of an endocrinology pioneer in India. Since childhood, she continues to be amazed by the impact that chronic endocrine diseases have on individuals and their families. As a practicing endocrinologist herself, she loves meeting new people each day, establishing a good rapport with her patients and watching their progress as they maintain their treatment plan with her as their guide every step of the journey. Along with providing her patients with exceptional care, Dr. Kannan loves drawing, painting and cooking. Trained in Indian classical singing and dance, she thoroughly enjoys both. She is fluent in English, Tamil and Hindi.
