Biography: Matthew R. Wilson, MD, FACS, FASCRS, is a board-certified colon and rectal surgeon who earned his Doctor of Medicine from Tulane University in 2006. He completed an internship and residency in general surgery at the Naval Medical Center Portsmouth. He then practiced general surgery for the U.S. Navy until 2015. During his time on active duty, he was honored with the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal as well as two Navy and Marine Corps Commendation medals. Upon discharge, he completed a colon and rectal surgery fellowship at AdventHealth Orlando. Dr. Wilson has practiced colon and rectal surgery for seven years at Utica Park Clinic and Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Dr. Wilson is an assistant professor of surgery at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland, and an adjunct professor of surgery at Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Tulsa.

Esparaz, MD, MPH, is a board-certified pediatric surgeon who earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine and a Master of Public Health from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He completed his general surgery residency at the University of Illinois, where he was named Resident Teacher of the Year. She finished a second residency in general surgery. She completed her colorectal surgery fellowship program at Grant Medical Center, Ohio. She also completed a fellowship in advanced management of rectal cancer at Lankenau Hospital, PA. Dr Essani developed the rectal cancer program and the robotic general and colorectal program at Baylor Scott and White Clinic in Temple, Texas.
