A Phi Beta Kappa and honors graduate of the University of Iowa, he earned his medical degree at the same school before undertaking his residency training at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. I know how difficult it can be to understand with the diagnosis of cancer and my drive is to provide my best knowledge and technical skills to make the patient comfortable and motivated to fight against it. I treat every patient as I would do a my family member and I strive to deliver the best care possible in a multidisciplinary method that fosters shared decision-making, empowerment and compassion with patients and their families.Research is critically important to me, and I've participated several of published studies. My research focuses on better understanding the factors associated with prognosis and staging in Hepato-pancreato-biliary and gastrointestinal cancers.
