He has particular expertise in robotic-assisted surgery as well as minimally-invasive techniqueswhich allow for more personalized care and rapid recovery. After graduating magna cum laude from Washington University in St. Louis, Dr. Gebrelul began his medical training at Emory University in Atlanta. He then excelled as an Orthopaedic Surgery resident physician at the University of TexasSouthwestern in Dallas, where he was selected to serve as Chief Resident. During his final year, he received both the G. Truett James and Vert Mooney awards, which are given annually to the most academically accomplished resident. Dr. Gebrelul then moved on to complete his fellowship training at the prestigious University of Pennsylvania, where he learned alongside internationally recognized leaders in the field of hip and knee replacements.During his career, Dr. Gebrelul has been active in research and has published numerous studies, abstracts, and book chapters addressing various aspects of hip and knee replacements. He has had his work presented at national meetings, and he is a fellow member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS).Dr. Gebrelul's surgical focus includes direct anterior (DA) total hip replacements, minimally-invasive partial and total knee replacements, fracture care, and complex revision surgeries.
