Biography: Dr. Chetna Arora is a board-certified and fellowship-trained minimally invasive gynecologic surgeon at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center. She is a specialist in complex benign gynecologic surgery for the treatment of uterine fibroids, menstrual disorders, endometriosis, pelvic pain, ovarian pathology, and fertility surgery. Her AAGL-accredited fellowship provided Dr. Arora with the specialized training and expertise in the fields of advanced robotics, laparoscopy and hysteroscopy. Dr. Arora's primary goals are minimally-invasive approaches with a thoughtful focus on patient-centered care thus allowing the patient a quicker recovery, improved cosmesis, and greater patient satisfaction. After graduating from the University of Missouri-Kansas City accelerated School of Medicine, Dr. Arora completed her Ob/Gyn residency at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota followed by a three-year minimally invasive gynecologic surgery fellowship at Columbia University. During her fellowship, she excelled surgically and academically. She was and remains highly research-oriented with numerous publications and awards, notably a prestigious scholarly Jay M. Biography: Dr. Kim is an Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center in the Division of Gynecologic Surgical Services. Dr. Kim graduated from Yale University and earned her medical degree from New York University. Following her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at New York University, she completed an AAGL-accredited fellowship in Minimally Invasive Surgery and Chronic Pelvic Pain at the University of Michigan, also earning her Masters in Clinical Research Design and Statistical Analysis. The fellowship provided Dr. Kim with specialized training and expertise in the field of advanced laparoscopy and robotics. Dr. Kim favors a minimally invasive approach to the care of her patients, understanding that this approach leads to faster recovery, less pain, shorter length of hospital stay, improved cosmesis, and greater patient satisfaction. In addition to providing routine gynecologic care, Dr. Kim specializes in gynecologic endoscopy, including robotic surgery, advanced laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, and in the treatment of women with chronic pelvic pain, endometriosis, uterine fibroids, abnormal uterine bleeding and vulvar pain. Dr. Kim regularly presents at national and international conferences, and led the establishment of a laparoscopic training program in Ghana.

Biography: Dr. Ja Hyun Shin is the Director of Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery and has expertise in advanced laparoscopic and robotic procedures. She is passionate about helping women who suffer from endometriosis, fibroids, adenomyosis, and other pelvic pain and bleeding disorders. She is dedicated to providing women with the least invasive but most effective treatment options, which include both surgical and non-surgical approaches. Dr. Shin completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Columbia University Medical Center followed by a Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery at the University of Rochester Medical Center. She completed additional training in robotic surgery at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center, after which she joined the Division of Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery. During her time at Montefiore Medical Center, Dr. Shin served as the Director of Pelvic Pain and Multidisciplinary Resident Robotic Training and was the Associate Director of the Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Fellowship Program. Within these roles, Dr. Shin focused on the education and training of residents, fellows, and faculty in performing safe minimally invasive surgeries. Dr. Shin is committed to practicing evidence-based medicine and providing her patients with the most current information to optimize the decision-making process. She sits on numerous national committees and is active in research activities to help establish best practice guidelines, improve surgical techniques, and reduce surgical complications. She has been invited to speak and train other surgeons at national and international conferences extensively and has published her work in numerous peer-reviewed journals.
