Biography: Giora Weisz, MD, is an Associate Professor in Clinical Medicine at Columbia University Irving Medical Center and serves as the Director of the cardiac Cath Lab at NewYork-Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital. O'Connor, MD, PhD is an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons, Co-director of the Center for CardioOncology, Cardiologist for the Aortic Program and Cardiac Intensivist at Columbia University Medical Center in New York. Biography: Koji Takeda, MD, PhD is a cardiac surgeon and Surgical Director for Adult Heart Transplant at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Dr. Takeda has a focus on heart failure, heart transplant surgery and mechanical circulatory support through ventricular assist devices (VADs). In addition to his clinical work, he is an active researcher in all of these areas, as well as in cardiac regeneration therapy. Biography: Dr. Elaine Wan is the Esther Aboodi Associate Professor of Medicine in Cardiology and Cardiac Electrophysiology at Columbia University Medical Center, College of Physicians and Surgeons and attending physician at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. She is trained in Internal Medicine, Clinical Cardiology and is an invasive cardiac electrophysiologist. She is the Director of Electrophysiology Research and oversees all electrophysiology clinical trials. She performs implantation of cardiac devices including pacemaker and defibrillators, as well as ablation of arrhythmias. Dr. Wan is a physician-scientist and focuses on development of novel treatments for heart failure, vascular dysfunction and arrhythmias such as atrial fibrillation. She is a translational researcher also interested in development of innovative imaging modalities to improve ablation delivery. Dr. Wan is a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She received her medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and completed her fellowship in Cardiovascular Diseases and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia. Gerstner Jr. Scholars Program, and Columbia University Provost's Grants Program for Junior Faculty who Contribute to the Diversity Goals of the University. Biography: Dr. Stern was born in Chicago Illinois but came to NYC a few months later and was raised in Greenwich village, New York. She graduated from the University of Chicago with an AB in 1986. She attended Medical school at NYU School of Medicine graduating in 1990. Internship, Residency and an additional year of Chief Residency were completed in 1994 at NYU Langone Medical Center/ Bellevue Hospital. She remained at NYU Langone Health to complete a fellowship in Cardiovascular Diseases in 1997 with a concentration in Echocardiography. She has been in clinical practice for the last twenty seven years at Murray Hill Medical Group PC/CareMount Medical Group/Optum. She has been taking care of patients in the primary care and hospital settings in a multi specialty group affiliated with NYU Langone Health. Since 1997 she had been on the faculty at NYU Langone Health as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine.
