Biography: Dr. Gulati obtained her medical degree from Seth G.S. Medical College and K.E.M. Hospital in Mumbai, India, followed by a pediatrics residency at SUNY Downstate Medical center. She completed my pediatric hematology/oncology fellowship at the joint program between New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. She then went on to complete a year of specialized training in Pediatric lymphoma and Histiocytosis at Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children's Hospital Cancer and Hematology Centers in Houston, Texas. Dr. Gulati subsequently joined the lymphoma and histiocytosis team as an Assistant professor and worked there between 2019-2023.Dr. Gulati's research and clinical interests focus on identifying pathogenic mechanisms of pediatric lymphoma and histiocytosis through collaborative and comprehensive research projects that look at the histologic, molecular, and genomic features of these diseases with the ultimate goal of identifying potential novel therapeutic targets.Dr. Gulati is an active member of the pediatric non-Hodgkin lymphoma committee of the children's oncology group and serves as the vice-chair on the upcoming first of its kind trial for relapsed L.C.H. conducted by the C.O.G. She is an active member of the North American Consortium for Histiocytosis (NACHO) and a steering committee member of the INTO-HLH.

Biography: Alana Nguyen, MD PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Hematology and Oncology at Weill Cornell Medicine/NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.Dr. Nguyen received her MD from Boston University in Boston, Massachusetts and herPhD from McGill University in Montreal, Canada. She went on to complete her postgraduate medical training in Internal Medicine at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. After her residency, she entered fellowship training in Medical Oncology at Columbia University/New York-Presbyterian Hospital in the Physician-Scientist Pathway.Dr. Nguyen sees patients with malignancies of the digestive tract in her clinical practice.In addition, her research focuses on drug development based on biological understanding of therapy resistance. She received a Women Who Conquer Cancer Award from the American Society for Clinical Oncology and its Conquer Cancer Foundation for her work on a 3-dimensional culture model of patient tumors to predict for patients' response to chemotherapy and immunotherapy. Using this innovative model, her current research will focus on understanding the tumor microenvironment of pancreatic cancer, and how this tumor microenvironment participates in drug evasion.

Biography: Dr. Mateo Mejia is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology at Weill Cornell Medicine and an Assistant Attending Physician at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.Dr. Mejia received his medical degree (M.D.) from the Universidad CES in his hometown of Medellin, Colombia, after which he completed an internal medicine residency at the Jacobi Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, NY, where he also served as a Chief Resident. He completed his Hematology and Oncology fellowship at Weill Cornell Medicine/NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital and joined the Hematology and Medical Oncology Division after completing his fellowship training in 2023. During fellowship, Dr. Mejia developed his clinical experience under the mentorship of Dr. Ruben Niesvizky, while pursuing his laboratory research at Dr. Mark Bustoros' Laboratory, being able to complete both clinical and translational research in the plasma cell malignancy field.Dr. Mejia's research has focused on the genomic drivers of aggressive forms of myeloma, for which he received the 2022 Conquer Cancer American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Young Investigator Award, a prestigious honor only given to 100 of people each year. Additionally, Dr. Mejia was the recipient ofthe 2022 Charles, Lillian and Betty Neuwirth Foundation Fellowship in Oncology award for his project "Genomic Landscape of Multiple Myeloma with Extramedullary Disease". Dr. Mejia's research also investigates the connectionof race, ethnicity and myeloma, how myeloma escapes the surveillance of the immune system, as well as how genetic information can be used to develop novel approaches to treat myeloma.

Biography: Amer Assal MD is a board certified medical oncologist and hematologist who specializes in the use of autologous and allogeneic bone marrow stem cell transplantation for the treatment of multiple myeloma, leukemia, lymphoma, myelodysplastic syndromes and other bone marrow disorders. Dr. Assal completed his medical education and internal medicine training at NYU School of Medicine. He was also a hospitalist in the department of medicine at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center caring for patients with a variety of cancer diagnoses, including stem cell transplant patients. Dr. Assal completed a fellowship in hematology and medical oncology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine where he also served as chief fellow. He finally completed a fellowship in blood and marrow stem cell transplantation at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. His research interests center around improving outcomes of stem cell transplantation and the diseases it is used to treat. He has a particular interest in immunotherapy and studying ways to harness the immune system to attack tumor cells, while at the same time decreasing the risk of graft versus host disease. He is also interested in studying therapeutic interventions to prevent and treat relapse of disease after stem cell transplantation. He has presented his research at several national conferences and was awarded an American Society of Hematology Abstract Achievement award for his research.

Care Philosophy: Alexander J. Chou, MD, is a pediatric oncologist specializing in the treatment of pediatric sarcomas, rare cancers of the bone and soft tissues at Children's Hospital at Montefiore.
