Biography: Matthew B. Stahlman, MD, FACC, FSCAI has practiced cardiology in Austin since 2006. He received a bachelor degree in Biology from the University of Texas in Austin with honors in 1992. Subsequently, he attended medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston where he graduated at the top of his class and received the honor of becoming a Member of Alpha Omega Alpha (medical honor society). After completing an internship in Surgery at Vanderbilt University in Nashville Tennessee, he then completed an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern (Parkland Hospital) in Dallas Texas. Dr. Stahlman returned to Vanderbilt and completed his Cardiology training in both Cardiovascular Diseases and Interventional Cardiology.Dr. Stahlman currently practices general and interventional cardiology at St. David's Medical Center in Austin. During his time in Austin, he has served as a Director of multiple area cardiac cath labs and on multiple executive, advisory, and peer review committees. Dr. Stahlman is distinguished as a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions. He is a member of the American Heart Association, the American Medical Association, the Texas Medical Association, and the Travis County Medical Society. Dr. Stahlman is board certified in Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology.Dr. Stahlman's clinical passion remains providing quality oriented and compassionate patient care. He specializes in cardiovascular diagnostic and therapeutic treatments for heart disease and stroke. He enjoys getting to know his patients in the office and assisting his patients throughout the spectrum of their care, including in the hospital setting.Away from the practice, Dr. Stahlman enjoys outdoor activities, fishing, cooking, baking, and (most importantly) spending time with his wife and participating in his three son's multiple activities.

Care Philosophy: Medical mission work is one of his passions, and he has participated in numerous international trips to provide medical care to underserved populations. Recently, through his involvement with VOOM Foundation, he has traveled to Nigeria to facilitate the development of a cardiac surgery program and to perform cardiac surgical procedures for the local population. Biography: Dr. Prince completed his Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology fellowships at Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans, LA. He completed an additional year of training in structural heart procedures, also at Ochsner. He is committed to advancing the field of cardiology and his clinical research has been published in many peer-reviewed journals including the Journal of the American College of Cardiology (JACC), the American Journal of Cardiology (AJC), and Catheterization & Cardiovascular Interventions (CCI). He has also contributed to a book chapter in Debulking in Cardiovascular Interventions and Revascularization Strategies (See publications). He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in the subspecialties of Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, and Interventional Cardiology. Dr. Prince is highly skilled at performing the following procedures: coronary angioplasty (including high-risk cases), heart assist devices (e.g., Impella and TandemHeart), peripheral interventions (including carotid and renal stenting), structural heart procedures (e.g., transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), Mitraclip, Watchman, Atrial Septal Defect (ASD) closure, and Patent Foramen Ovale (PFO) closure), and venous ablations. Dr. Prince uses his breadth of knowledge and experience to deliver compassionate and comprehensive cardiovascular care.
