She has a special interest in thyroid disease and thyroid cancer. She is also a clinical instructor at LSUHSC, Shreveport, in the Department of Endocrinology. She is a current member of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology, The Endocrine Society, American Medical Association, Louisiana State Medical Association and Shreveport Medical Association. Dr. Laura Kimball-Ravari has been inducted by The American College of Endocrinology (ACE), the educational and scientific arm of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE), as a Fellow during the 2015 AACE Annual Scientific and Clinical Congress. Designation as a Fellow of the American College of Endocrinology (FACE) means an endocrinologist has achieved a level of training and experience consistent with the high standards established and adopted by the clinical endocrinology specialty. Biography: I grew up in Georgia, Virginia and Tennessee. I attended Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia and Tennessee Wesleyan College in Athens, Tennessee, getting my undergraduate degree in Chemistry. I then went to medical school at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis Tennessee. I did my Pediatric residency at T C Thompson Children's Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee. I was a Captain in the Air Force for 3 years as a Pediatric Clinic Physician at Barksdale Air Force Base before joining this clinic in 1997. I am married with 3 children, and we live in Bossier City. I love to travel, exercise and read.
