Care Philosophy: Natalie T. Cheng, MD, is Attending Neurologist at Montefiore and Assistant Professor at our Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Her clinical focus is on the acute management of ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, with specific interests in cryptogenic stroke and stroke in the young.In 2005, Dr. Cheng graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, receiving her Bachelor of Arts in psychology and molecular and cell biology with neurobiology emphasis. She went on to attend the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, earning her Doctor of Medicine in 2010. She began her postdoctoral training at Weill Cornell Medical Center, completing an internship in 2011 and a residency in neurology in 2014, acting as chief resident in her final year. She then pursued a year-long clinical fellowship at UC San Francisco Medical Center followed by a year-long fellowship with the National Institute of Health StrokeNet, completing the fellowships in 2015 and 2016, respectively.Dr. Cheng&rsquos research interests include cost-utility in stroke care, healthcare disparities, and the global burden of stroke. She has shared her findings through many peer-reviewed journals, abstracts and invited presentations.Dr. Cheng is board certified and a member of the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association and the American Academy of Neurology.

Biography: Dr. Sharma is a New York native who graduated from Stony Brook University and earned her medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her residency training with a focus on primary care at University of Massachusetts Medical School Baystate Medical Center in 2018 and is board-certified in Internal Medicine. Dr. Sharma is interested in providing effective, efficient, and evidence-based patient-centered care through a holistic understanding of each patient as an individual.
