He has also developed an excellent reputation for using minimally invasive procedures when a hysterectomy is needed. Biography: Elizabeth T. Harrel, M.D. is a graduate of Louisiana State University in Shreveport, where she earned an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry. She attended medical school at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, where she also completed her surgical internship and urology residency. While a student there, Dr. Harrel received the Robert K. Womack Memorial Award for Excellence in the study of urology and was elected to the Alpha Omega Medical Honor Society. She began her full-time practice of urology in 2008. Dr. Harrel has a special interest in female urology.
