Biography: Dr. Arnold Vardiman, M.D. is a Board-Certified Neurosurgeon, accredited by the American Board of Neurosurgery. After graduating Summa Cum Laude with a bachelor's degree in biology from St. Mary's University in 1985, Dr. Vardiman attended the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, receiving his Doctor of Medicine in 1989. Dr. Vardiman later completed a one-year general surgery internship at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, followed by a five-year Neurological Surgery residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.Dr. Vardiman is a highly esteemed leader in his field, ranking third in the nation for Deep Brain Stimulation (1994-2014), a procedure that has revolutionized treatment for patients experiencing the symptoms of Parkinson's disease. Dr. Vardiman furthermore specializes in complex spine procedures and cerebrovascular disease. He continues to shape the field of neuroscience as a Medical Director at the Texas Neuroscience Institute, and Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center, located in San Antonio. He is presently associated with several hospitals throughout San Antonio and surrounding areas including Methodist Stone Oak Hospital, Methodist Hospital, and St. Luke's Baptist Hospital, and is an active member of numerous medical organizations including Congress of Neurological Surgeons, North American Spine Society, and Bexar County Medical Society.
