Sports Medicine Associates (SMA) intent is to provide the best and most current Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine care available for athletes of all skill levels and other patients of all ages throughout our area who want the benefits of our expertise. We created the first fully-integrated Sports Medicine Program in our area, incorporating clinical care, education, research, and community service. We have modified existing and created new Orthopaedic care protocols to help return individuals to normal states of health following injury or problems. SMA is a fully-integrated team with multi-disciplinary expertise and functions to provide optimal and fastest improvement possible to our patients, patrons, and programs. This includes highly respected physician clinical evaluation skills and surgical treatments. Exceptional physical therapy, athletic training, massage therapy, and sports enhancement programs allow for an integrated treatment plan which creates consistent and effective outcomes at all levels. We believe it is important to be true to one's claims. Our claim to expertise in Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine is not just a name on a wall. SMA physicians are required to be Board Certified in their specialties and have completed one-year fellowships in Sports Medicine at a fully accredited Sports Medicine Program. In fact, SMA is the only group in the CSRA area with all of its physicians Board Certified in their specialties and fully fellowship trained in Sports Medicine. THE ONLY ONE!
