Care Philosophy: Dr. Phong Q. Le is subspecialty certified in pain medicine and a board certified anesthesiology physician. Using a unique combination of his pursuit for excellence, coupled with a compassionate bedside manner, Dr. Le can help people relieve their pain and regain their lives. Dr. Le began his extensive medical training at the University of North Texas Health Science Center " Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth, Texas. Dr. Le continued his residency training in Anesthesiology at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, and completed a Interventional Pain Management Fellowship at New York Medical College " St Vincent™s Medical Center. Dr. Le is an active member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, Spinal Interventional Society, and American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine. During his spare time, Dr. Le spends time with his wife and son, and is an avid sports fan and dog lover.

Biography: Dr. Leahy believes in taking a conservative approach to treating the spine. In my practice, surgical treatment of spinal disorders is always a last resort. It is only after exhaustive conservative efforts have been made that surgery is appropriate. I feel that this is the safest approach to treating the spine and allows for the best surgical outcomes.Dr. Leahy is a strong proponent of minimally invasive surgical techniques, including nonfusion procedures such as artificial disc replacement and adult stem cell therapy. He is proficient in all of the most current surgical techniques in the treatment of spinal disorders. He incorporates these treatment alternatives into his practice whenever possible. Every patient is different and will require an individualized treatment plan, Dr. Leahy says. I carefully listen to my patients to understand their symptoms, how their symptoms impact their lives, and what their treatment goals are. The majority of patients can be treated with conservative, nonsurgical methods. Surgery is always the last option; but when necessary, I utilize minimally invasive techniques so patients have a faster recovery with less post-operative pain.

Care Philosophy: Fernando E. Silva, MD, is a board-certified, fellowship-trained neurosurgeon who specializes in minimally-invasive and degenerative spine surgery; and adult deformity and scoliosis surgery at Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital. Dr. Silva has trained at some of the nation's premier medical institutions. He earned his medical degree at the University of California San Diego School of Medicine in La Jolla, California. He completed a general surgical internship at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester, Massachusetts and was a visiting neurology resident at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Silva completed his neurosurgery residency at Loma Linda University Medical Center in San Bernardino, California, where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Silva completed an Adult Scoliosis and Deformity Spine Fellowship at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Illinois; a Pediatric Scoliosis and Deformity Spine Fellowship at Shriners Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and an Advanced Pediatric and Adult Spinal Deformity Fellowship at Washington University Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Silva has published numerous peer-reviewed medical journal articles, textbook chapters and societal papers. In his leisure time, he enjoys running, swimming, playing tennis and traveling.

Care Philosophy: I am passionate about providing excellent, patient-centered care. The first step in this process is listening to my patient's problem and how it affects their life. The next step is the physical exam to identify signs of injury or pain. Then, I seek to provide patients with the information necessary to make informed decisions about their treatment. Whether reviewing anatomic models of the shoulder, hip, or knee to understand the condition or analyzing x-rays, CT scans, or MRIs, I feel that knowledgeable patients will make the best decisions about their own treatment. We will review realistic expectations of each treatment option. It is important that each treatment plan be individualized for each patients goals and expectations, and I will help and support your decisions during the process.
