He is board eligible in the field of spinal surgery and received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine as a dean™s list student in 2010. Dr. Sharif completed his orthopedic surgical residency at the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine where he was elected Chief Resident consistently scoring among the highest in-training exam scores in the nation. Following residency he completed a combined fellowship in Orthopedic / Neurosurgical adult and pediatric spine surgery at the prestigious Norton Leatherman Spine Center under the direction of Drs. John Dimar, Rolando Puno and Steven Glassman, past-president of the Scoliosis Research Society. Dr. Sharif, a Henderson resident, enjoys physical fitness, outdoor activities, auto mechanics and spending time with his wife and three children.

Montesano, to assure you the finest of care. ** I strongly believe continuing education is the key to providing excellent, ongoing patient care. As a result, I've recently completed rigorous skills training programs in Total Disk Replacement and Minimially Invasive Surgery to further enhance my surgical skills and clinical knowledge. ** I am also currently the principal investigator in the use of OP-1 (BMP) for posterolater fusion of revision lumbar spine surgery. ** I believe in meeting patients' individual needs through comprehensive evaluation and treatment designed to help them achieve an active, pain-free lifestyle. Many musculoskeletal conditions can be treated by non-surgical techniques--surgery is just one treatment option.
