Biography: Born in Lusaka, Zambia to missionary parents, Dr. Rainey's unique background helps explain his love of caring for others, especially children. Clearly influenced by his parents, Dr. Rainey has traveled to Haiti semi-annually since 1997 on medical mission trips. Biography: Dr. Latta has been dedicated to the care of children in Winston-Salem for over 24 years. He has also done mission work in Haiti and volunteered at Sunnyside Clinic here in Winston-Salem. Dr. Latta has been married to his wife Lydia for more than 30 years and is the proud father of three daughters. If he can find time beyond his many activities and his family, Dr. Latta enjoys snow skiing, running, biking and UNC basketball.

Dr. Pinder was originally born and raised in New York before moving to North Carolina for school. When not caring for children in the office, Dr. Pinder and her husband are the busy parents of five children.

Biography: Dr. Barbara Clifford loves that her profession allows her to have such a significant impact in people's lives, starting from such a young age. Dr. Clifford was born and raised in Cincinnati, OH and her residency kept her in her home town as did her private practice until 1990. At that time, she moved to Winston-Salem with her husband where she has served patients for two decades and now enjoys second-generation patients. Dr. Clifford and her husband have two children who are very active in athletics and school. Her last name, Clifford, has proven to be a hit with her patients where they have arrived hoping to see a big red dog.

Biography: Nicole Rice, MD, is happy she chose pediatrics. She finds a lot of satisfaction in providing care for children. She loves kids and how fun they are to work with and enjoys providing solutions for their problems. Dr. Rice also likes getting to know her patients and their families and watching them grow up. She enjoys all aspects of pediatrics and has a focus on ADHD, behavior issues, pediatric autoimmune neuropsychiatric disorders associated with streptococcal infections and other infectious diseases, along with regular preventive care. Dr. Rice understands the concerns of parents because she is a parent, four times over. She and her husband, Kevin, love spending time with their children and attending Wake Forest sporting events.

Biography: Growing up, my pediatrician was kind, funny and, most importantly, caring. Ever since I was 4 years old, I knew I wanted to be just like him, helping kids stay happy and healthy. \n I find walking alongside parents on the parenting journey to be a great joy. Parents know their children best, and it is a privilege to work together with them to find solutions to any problems and challenges. As a pediatrician, I also get to watch children grow from infants to children to teens and finally into adults. My goal is to ensure all children feel cared for and heard, so I make each appointment personalized and engaging for the patient. Then as they grow up, I make sure children and teens feel empowered and informed to make the healthy life choices that will help them flourish. \n Today, I am the chair of the pediatric division at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center, and I am a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, a national medical honor society. \n In my free time, I love being active and spending time outdoors. I have a wonderful husband and three sons. As a family, we enjoy camping, fishing, golf and church activities. Some of my hobbies include sewing and cheering on the West Virginia University Mountaineers.

Biography: Caroline Brown, MD, adores children and watching them grow. As a pediatrician, Dr. Brown partners with patients and their parents, working with them as a team to provide the best medical care possible. She enjoys getting to know families and establishing lasting relationships that promote the growth and development of happy, healthy children. All of this makes her excited to come to work every day. Dr. Brown is married to Chad, her college sweetheart, and has three children. Her hobbies include traveling, cooking and participating in a range of water sports, from kayaking and canoeing to paddle boarding and sailing.

Biography: Dr. Ajizian is a board certified physician with over 15 years of experience in the medical field. She chose pediatrics because she believes there is nothing more important than the health of children and their families. She enjoys treating healthy and sick children and her interests include behavioral and mental health. After her chief resident year, Dr. Ajizian worked as a hospitalist at Wake Forest Baptist Health Brenner Children's Hospital. She then began working as a private practice pediatrician at Novant Health. When she is not at the office treating patients, Dr. Ajizian is with her family either at home with their dogs cooking and reading or at the barn riding horses.
