During his time at SVMC's transplant program, the transplant outcome metrics improved considerably, making it a premier transplant program in California. Dr Shah is board certified in Nephrology and AST certified in Kidney and pancreas transplantation. Dr. Shah led a state of the art clinical and transplant research program at SVMC and the National Institute of Transplantation. His research interests are diverse and remains actively involved with basic and clinical research exploring innovative methods of increasing transplant access to all patients, increasing transplant rates, using state of the art immunomodulation and surveillance for improving overall patient and graft survival. He has published extensively in the field of transplant medicine and nephrology in peer reviewed journals. He has authored several original papers and book chapter that have positively impacted transplant medicine practice. He remains an active member of American Society of Transplantation (AST) and American Society of Nephrology (ASN) and has made numerous presentations and delivered lectures.
