Biography: Dr. Varadendra Panchamukhi joined North Texas Heart Center in 2019. He is board certified in Interventional Cardiology, Cardiology and is a certified Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation. After completing internal medicine at Lincoln Hospital- New York Medical College, NY he did is Cardiology fellowship at University of Missouri, Columbia, MO, and a fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at St Vincent's Hospital, New York, NY. Dr. Panchamukhi joined the Veterans Administration Medical Center at Marion, IL as a consultant Cardiologist in 1999. In 2003 he joined Prairie Cardiovascular Consultants at Carbondale, IL and worked as a Consultant Cardiologist at Southern Illinois Healthcare. He served there until 2019 in various leadership roles before moving to Texas. Dr Panchamukhi has expertise in Coronary and Vascular interventions. Biography: Dr. Zarina Sharalaya joined North Texas Heart Center in 2022 after completing her interventional and structural cardiology fellowship at Cleveland Clinic Foundation. She earned her Medical Degree at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. She then went on to complete a residency in internal medicine at the University of North Carolina, followed by a fellowship in cardiovascular medicine at Cleveland Clinic Foundation.Dr. Sharalaya is board certified in Internal Medicine, Nuclear Cardiology, General Cardiology, and Interventional Cardiology. She is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and has served in various leadership roles for the ACC, on the fellows council and the Diversity & Inclusion Committee. She is passionate about mentoring female trainees who are pursuing a career in cardiology, to bridge the gender gap that exists in cardiology.Her clinical interests include complex coronary intervention, transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), patent foramen ovale (PFO) closure, and she has a special interest in women's cardiovascular health. Women are historically undertreated for heart disease, due to under recognition of cardiac issues. She has started the Women's Heart & Vascular Program at North Texas Heart Center which is dedicated to providing specialized and focused cardiac care tailored to female physiology. Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending time with family, traveling, Ohio State Buckeyes and Cincinnati Bengals football, and trying new restaurants. She lives in Dallas with her husband and daughter.
