Having seen the simplest and the most challenging parathyroid disease scenarios, Dr. Politz welcomes patients who have been diagnosed for the first time and those with prior attempts at surgical cure. Patients whose parathyroid disease is associated with thyroid cancer or kidney disease also benefit from his decades of experience. Dr. Politz has helped refine advanced techniques of minimally invasive parathyroidectomy used to quickly identify the four parathyroid glands in surgery. Biography: Dr. Pearson completed her medical degree and a residency in general surgery at the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine. During her residency she was awarded TGH Resident of the Month by the TGH nursing staff. Dr. Pearson went on to complete a fellowship in abdominal transplant surgery at Tampa General Medical Group where she gained extensive surgical experience. She is board certified in general surgery. Dr. Pearson has been involved in research activities including complications of renal transplantation and innovations in dialysis access, presenting her research at national conferences.
