Biography: Dr. Baer is a native of Colorado. He attended Cherry Creek High School and graduated at the top of his class. He went on to attend Harvard University and received his degree in Biology, with honors. While at Harvard, he was awarded the Harvard Scholarship for three consecutive years while maintaining a job and being a four-year varsity athlete. He graduated with honors from the University of Colorado Health Science Center. Dr. Baer completed his surgery residency at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. While completing this 5 year program, he was also a flight physician for MedFlight, a helicopter rescue/transport service. Following his residency program, he completed a fellowship at the Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, in Gloucester, England. Upon completion of this program, Dr. Baer returned home and has been practicing general surgery in South Denver since 1992. Dr. Baer's professional interests include, gastrointestinal surgery, cancer surgery, breast surgery, hernia surgery, and advanced laparoscopic surgery. He has special interests in endocrine surgery including minimally invasive thyroid and parathyroid surgery as well as laparoscopic adrenalectomy.
