Biography: I am a nurse practitioner working in collaboration with UNC Health at Novant Health's pediatric specialty clinic in Wilmington. I have the privilege of working as a multispecialty clinician in pediatric endocrinology with a focus on prevention and early intervention of feeding disorders in newborns.\n My nursing career began in the neonatal intensive care unit. Later, I worked as an educator for Children's Services. Eventually, I had the fantastic opportunity to help start our pediatric specialty clinic and became its first nurse practitioner. \n I like the holistic approach we offer and appreciate the synergy among the various specialties. But what I love most about my job are the children and their families I get to work with.\n Many of my patients have chronic, complex conditions. These conditions are often accompanied by challenges for the child and their families. Working in conjunction with the multidisciplinary teams here, we strive to provide the necessary education and help guide the parents to make the best medical decisions for their child. Our goal is always to help the child reach their full potential.\n My favorite way to spend my spare time is with my two daughters. In addition, I'm a Southern gal who loves the outdoors and gardening. I am also active in my church and have two very active dogs that keep me busy...and give me opportunities to do extra yard work!

Biography: Originally from the Ukraine, Dr. Kotlyarevska, graduated from Dnepropetrovsk State Medical Academy in Ukraine and completed a residency in pediatrics with focus on adolescent medicine and growth and puberty disorders. After immigrating to US, she did a general pediatrics residency at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY and subsequently completed a fellowship in Pediatric Endocrinology at University of Michigan. She is board certified in general pediatrics and pediatric endocrinology. Dr. Kotlyarevska works in close collaboration with the pediatric endocrinology division at UNC. She is an adjunct assistant professor in the Department of Pediatrics. She has been practicing as a pediatric endocrinologist since 2009. As part of her fellowship training Dr. Kotlyarevska pursued research training. The focus of her research was the growth hormone role in the development of diabetic kidney disease. Her clinical interests include diabetes, growth disorders and pubertal disorders.
