His areas of expertise include the use of minimally invasive technologies in colon and rectal cancer treatment, including TAMIS and laparoscopic surgery. He specializes in the surgical treatment of both Crohn&#39s disease and ulcerative colitis, and is proficient treating all common anorectal diseases including hemorrhoids, fistulas and perianal abscesses. Patients are frequently referred to her care due to her expertise in minimally invasive surgical procedures to address swallowing disorders paraesophageal, inguinal and ventral hernias and gastrointestinal and solid organ diseases. A recipient of the Chief Resident Hands of a Surgeon Award and numerous Top Docs¬ honors, she is a recognized leader in her field and active member of multiple medical societies. She earned her medical degree and completed her general surgery residency at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia and capped her medical training with a fellowship in advanced minimally invasive and bariatric surgery at Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center in Richmond.

Biography: Richard R. Teed, M.D., attended the University of Florida, where he earned his bachelor of science degree in microbiology and cell science with a minor in classical studies. He went on to graduate with honors from Ross University School of Medicine. He completed his general surgery residency at Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, VA, followed by his vascular surgery fellowship training at Carolinas HealthCare System in Charlotte, NC. Dr. Teed is fellowship trained and board certified in vascular surgery by the American Board of Surgery. His specialties include treatment of peripheral arterial disease (PAD), limb salvage, dialysis access, wound care, aortic surgery including aneurysms and dissections, carotid artery surgery for stroke prevention and the treatment of all aspects of venous disease. He is an associate with The American College of Surgeons.
