Care Philosophy: Our medical practice is independently owned, so patients always know that decisions are made only with their best interests foremost in mind. Our surgeons are skilled, experienced and highly respected, available for consultation and second opinion in addition to performing surgery. What sets us apart? We're committed to providing excellent service - respectful, convenient, compassionate and attentive to your comfort and convenience. We will make all necessary appointments on your behalf for your medical needs. We take the time to get to know you - we're not just interested in what you need to have done. We'll review your medical history with you, closely examining your medical records and imaging studies and answering any questions you have before and after your procedure. We achieve excellent outcomes/results, safely and (important in today's environment) cost-effectively. We work with most major insurance providers and will take care of all necessary pre-approvals and paperwork. Our only agenda is your health and well-being. Our practice is focused entirely on surgery so you can be assured that no tests or referrals are financially motivated. Dr. Steinbaum believes in treating patients like members of his own family.

Care Philosophy: Patients should never feel they have to choose between superior surgical skills and warm, compassionate care. As general surgeons, we have vast experience with both traditional open techniques and minimally invasive approaches. We're known for our expertise in hernia repair. We've performed thousands of procedures on the abdomen, intestines, esophagus, stomach, small bowel, colon, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, bile ducts, thyroid and parathyroid glands, skin and breasts. We are experts in the surgical treatment of all types of cancer, including colon cancer, breast cancer, thyroid cancer, stomach cancer, gallbladder cancer, pancreatic cancer, liver cancer and lung cancer. When cancer is diagnosed and a surgical procedure is done, we make sure patients are scheduled with the appropriate specialists, including medical oncologists and radiation oncologists.Because healing and recovery are typically faster and easier with a minimally invasive approach, our philosophy is always to use the least invasive approach possible that brings the best possible likelihood of a great outcome. We complete 98% of our surgeries laparoscopically, so patients experience less pain, less blood loss and a shorter hospital stay. Our surgeons pursue ongoing education to ensure they remain up to date on the latest techniques and technology.

Care Philosophy: Patients should be seen as individuals with goals, aspirations, fears and challenges. As persons who are important as individuals and then in their role as members of families, church groups, neighborhoods, work place teams, and our community. As a healthcare provider, my role is to listen to each story and use my professional experience to help, lead, teach, counsel or refer to the information, treatment, support or reassurance they need to heal from the challenges they present with when they come to visit.

Care Philosophy: Physician Philosophy: Medicine is a fast evolving science with different aspects changing on a regular base. But there are also paradigms that have lasted many centuries. Primum non nocere - first, do no harm derived from the oath of Hippocrates in ancient Greece, this paradigm is still of utmost important for our patient care. We are here to help and to cure, avoiding harm to the patient at any cost. We strive to take care of the patient's physical illness, but we also thrive to address any emotional or social aspects coming with his illness. As surgeons, we inflict pain by our measures. We aim to manage the pain to the patient's satisfaction with the help of our colleagues, nurses and assistant medical personnel. Failure to do so will delay patient recovery and satisfaction. To provide a comfortable environment for all our patients, physically and emotionally, in our practice and in the hospital, that's what we will be evaluated by.
