He also focuses on arthroscopic surgery, joint replacement and fracture care. Dr. Vaughan employs the most technologically advanced medical and surgical techniques, along with a patient-centered philosophy, to get his patients off the sidelines and return them to an active lifestyle sooner. Dr. Vaughan served as an orthopedic surgeon for the U.S. Navy in Pensacola, Florida. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. In his spare time, Dr. Vaughan volunteers as the orthopedic team surgeon for the University of Puget Sound. Johnston, MD is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in orthopedic sports medicine, arthroscopic surgery, reconstructive surgery and trauma, treatment of athletic injuries, and fracture care. He enjoys caring for patients from all walks of life and strives to provide his patients with efficient, thorough and compassionate care. Dr. Johnston completed a fellowship at the Santa Monica Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Group, a FIFA Centre of Medical Excellence, where he served as the team physician for the L.A. Galaxy and Chivas USA Major League Soccer teams, the U.S. Men's and Women's National Soccer Teams and the Pepperdine University and Santa Monica Community College athletic departments. Dr. Johnston is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Orthopaedic Society of Sports Medicine.

Care Philosophy: Dr. Vercio is passionate about patient education and partnering with patients, working together to help them make the best treatment decisions. He is skilled in ultrasound of the upper extremity for diagnosis and treatments and is co-author of a textbook to assist other physicians with these useful exams and techniques. Dr. Vercio has also spent time in developing countries from Nepal to Haiti and plans to continue helping those in need.
