Biography: Eileen de Grandis, M.D., RPVI, FACS, is a board-certified vascular surgeon at BocaCare | Vascular Surgery, a part of Baptist Health South Florida. She specializes in the diagnosis and management of aortic disease, peripheral artery disease for limb salvage, cerebrovascular disease, hemodialysis access, as well as comprehensive venous and lymphatic treatment. Dr. de Grandis joined BocaCare from Bayfront Health Port Charlotte and Bayfront Health Punta Gorda. During her time there as a lead vascular surgeon, she served as co-chair of the Radiation Safety Committee and provided training, education and enacted safety measures for the staff. During her residency at the Mayo Clinic, Dr. de Grandis served as the administrative chief. She was responsible for managing 75 surgical residents and their training rotations. Her research has been published in peer-reviewed publications, including the Journal of Vascular Surgery and Perspectives in Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy. Dr. de Grandis' goal is to empower and educate patients to understand their medical condition and treatment options. She believes caring for patients is more than performing surgery it's also understanding their history, support network, lifestyle and developing a good relationship with them. When she is not treating patients, Dr. de Grandis enjoys spending time with her family, going to the beach, swimming, trying new recipes, painting and making costume jewelry.

Biography: Dr. Kelechi Akuma, M.D. is a board-certified Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon. He completed his General Surgery residency at Mount Sinai Icahn School of Medicine at Beth Israel, New York. His clinical experience during residency training inspired him to pursue Vascular Surgery. He went on to complete his Vascular Surgery fellowship at North Shore-LIJ in New York where he focused on minimally invasive and open surgical treatment of arterial, venous, and lymphatic diseases. From 2018 to 2022, Dr. Akuma was employed as Vascular Surgeon and Assistant Professor of Surgery at Northwell Health in New York. In 2022, Dr. Akuma joined the HCA Florida Heart and Vascular Center in Margate, Florida. His practice focuses on non-operative, endovascular, and open management of aortic aneurysms, carotid disease, peripheral artery disease, hemodialysis access, superficial venous insufficiency, and deep venous pathology. Currently, Dr. Akuma holds board certifications in General Surgery and Vascular Surgery from the American College of Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgery as well as a Fellow of the Society for Vascular Surgery. He is also a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation.

Biography: Ivo Alexander Pestana, M.D., FACS, FAAPS, is a plastic and reconstructive surgeon at the Eugene M. and Christine E. Lynn Cancer Institute, part of Baptist Health, at Boca Raton Regional Hospital. He specializes in general plastic surgery, complex reconstructive procedures and microneurovascular surgery. His clinical interests include reconstructive and cosmetic breast and body surgery. Prior to joining Lynn Cancer Institute, Dr. Pestana served as professor of plastic and reconstructive surgery at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. Dr. Pestana earned his medical degree at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He completed a surgical residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital and a plastic surgery residency at Duke University Medical Center. His training included a transplantation and immunology research fellowship as well as a trauma research fellowship at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He also completed a hand and microsurgery fellowship at Christine M. Kleinert Institute for Hand and Microsurgery. Dr. Pestana is certified by American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He is a fellow of the American Association of Plastic Surgeons, fellow of the American College of Surgeons and member of several other professional organizations. He serves as a reviewer for the Annals of Surgical Oncology and the Journal of Reconstructive Microsurgery. His work in plastic and reconstructive surgery is widely published in peer-reviewed medical journals. During his career, Dr. Pestana has been named to such prestigious lists as Best Doctors in America and Americas Top Surgeons. He participated in the description and implementation of the imaging technique termed fluorescent angiography in the field of plastic surgery, which has proven to be an important advancement in the clinical assessment of microvascular anastomoses and tissue perfusion. Dr. Pestanas goal is to provide patient-centered, safe, cutting edge reconstructive and cosmetic surgery in a caring and sensitive manner, he says. He is committed to ensuring patients feel heard and are aware of and understand all options available to them when considering plastic surgery. Dr. Pestana is fluent in both English and Spanish.
