She is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and is a certified Lifestyle Medicine Physician and Diplomate of the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine and the American Board of Obesity Medicine.Dr. Mough is currently the only Lifestyle Medicine provider in Southeastern North Carolina to provide a fully comprehensive weight management program. In an uncontrolled state, obesity can contribute to the development of weight related chronic conditions such as type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, obstructive sleep apnea, high cholesterol, osteoarthritis, and some cancers. There are, however, highly effective and evidence-based treatments for obesity, and these treatments may help to prevent, control, or even reverse common weight- related chronic conditions. The Wilmington Health Bariatric Surgery Clinic is the only clinic in Southeastern North Carolina that offers a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary approach to weight management that includes lifestyle counseling by a lifestyle medicine certified internist, nutrition counseling with a registered dietician, medical weight management by a board-certified obesity medicine physician, and bariatric surgery performed by a board- certified and fellowship trained general surgeon. This entire spectrum of services is available in one central office, led by a dedicated team of experts with a collective focus on compassionate, evidence-based care.

Biography: I graduated from East Carolina University in 2011 with a BS in Nutrition and Dietetics. I later on pursued my Master of Science in Nutrition and Integrative Health from Maryland University of Integrative Health. I completed my dietetic training at East Carolina University. I serve over 13 years' experience in the nutrition field. I chose nutrition as my career because I saw what an impact it made on my own health. Growing up, I had suffered an array of hormonal complications that only became worse in my 20's. By implementing nutrient dense foods into my diet, I was able to feel and see such an ambiguous difference in my health; physically, spiritually, and emotionally. I saw the impact it had on my patients' lives as well. Being able to see the difference of people's overall health is where my true passion lies. I wholeheartedly believe that food has such a profound impact on the wellbeing of a person's life, and I work with patients individually to promote optimal health and wellness. I meet patients where they are and work with them to improve their health. I support people on their journey to health and wellness and extend a helping hand along the way. I currently possess my certificate in weight loss and obesity management for pediatric and adults. When I am not working with patients, I enjoy being outdoors and spending time with my two children. I love to hike, go to the beach, and do anything fun!
