Care Philosophy: Your initial appointment nbsp;will begin with a thorough medical and dental history in addition to an oral exam nbsp; Typically Dr Hirschfield or Dr Huyett will spend several minutes talking with you outside the treatment area to begin to get to know you nbsp;We want to understand your previous dental experiences and give you the opportunity to share your thoughts and concerns with us nbsp;In nbsp;our opinion an informed and involved patient is more likely to achieve a nbsp;higher level of healthcare nbsp;The oral exam includes a hard tissue teeth and soft tissue gums examination as well as an important screen for oral cancer nbsp;A preliminary consultation explaining your diagnosis and treatment options will be discussed at the end of your first visit nbsp;Occasionally treatment can be performed the same day as the consolation nbsp;However a complex medical history or treatment plan will require an evaluation and a second appointment to provide treatment on a subsequent day
