Care Philosophy: I was drawn to cardiac electrophysiology because I was fascinated by the idea that one could manipulate the electrical system of the heart with immediate benefit to the patient.

Biography: Dr. Rajeev Joshi joined North Texas Heart Center in August 2013. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine and his fellowships in Cardiovascular Diseases and Advanced Cardiac Imaging at St. Luke's - Roosevelt Hospital in New York as part of the Columbia University System. His Advanced Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology training was completed at the University of California in San Diego. Dr. Joshi is proficient in all aspects of Electrophysiology including atrial fibrillation ablation, atrial flutter and PSVT ablation, and ventricular tachycardia ablation. In addition he implants pacemakers, defibrillators and cardiac resynchronization therapy devices, as well as, performs laser lead extraction. Dr. Joshi not only practices electrophysiology, but he is also board certified in Echocardiography and Nuclear Cardiology. Dr. Joshi is multi-lingual and speaks Hindi, Urdu and Kannada.

Biography: This physician is accepting telehealth visits. Dr. Sunil Reddy earned his Doctor of Medicine from the Saint Louis University School of Medicine, graduating with honors. He went on to complete his Internal Medicine residency at UCLA and his Cardiology and Cardiac Electrophysiology fellowships at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago. He has been inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, and has also been inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a Fellow of the Heart Rhythm Society. Dr. Reddy joined North Texas Heart Center in March 2019. Prior to that, he served on faculty at UT Houston where he was the Co-Program Director of the Cardiology Fellowship and Associate Program Director of the Cardiac Electrophysiology Fellowship. He also was the lead faculty for the Electrophysiology teaching service and ECG training for fellows, receiving yearly teaching awards. He also opened and built several new electrophysiology sites to bridge gaps in care in various Houston communities, and he is working on similar endeavors in the DFW community.Dr. Reddy is proficient in all aspects of Cardiac Electrophysiology. In addition to routine radiofrequency ablation and implantation of pacemakers and defibrillators, he further specializes in complex catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia, advanced device and lead management/extraction, and implantation of appendage closure devices. He will primarily practice in the Plano and Frisco locations, but will also be active in Dallas and McKinney.

Biography: This physician is accepting telehealth visits. Dr. Jodie Hurwitz received her Medical Degree from Albert Einstein College of New York. Her internship in Internal Medicine was completed at The University of Texas Health Science Center in Dallas followed by a Fellowship in Cardiology and Electrophysiology at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC. She stayed on staff at the Duke University Medical Center for 2 years and then joined the faculty at the University of Pennsylvania as an Assistant Professor. Dr. Hurwitz is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases and Electrophysiology. She has served in the past as Chief of Cardiology at Medical City Hospital and is currently Director of the Electrophysiology Lab at Medical City Hospital, Dallas.Dr. Hurwitz is President of the North Texas Electrophysiology Society and has served on the board of healthcare policy for the Heart Rhythm Society and the Women's Leadership Initiative Task Force. She is currently on the board of directors for Heart Rhythm Society. In addition, she serves on the electrophysiology council of the American College of Cardiology.Dr. Hurwitz is a specialist in Electrophysiology (the study of normal and abnormal cardiac rhythms). She performs EP studies with radio frequency ablation, atrial fibrillation ablations, as well as pacemaker and defibrillator implantation. Dr. Hurwitz is published widely and participates extensively in clinical and device trials. Dr. Hurwitz has been named several times to the Best Doctors in Dallas and Texas Super Doctors. She lives in Dallas with her daughter.

Care Philosophy: Undergoing treatment for heart arrhythmias can be a trying time for people. I try to relate to patients in a way that lets them know they have all the time in the world to talk. I want all my patients to be as confident in their treatment as I am.

Tamirisa, MD, FACC, FHRS.Dr. Tamirisa completed her training in Internal Medicine and served as Chief Resident at St. Louis University, St. Louis, Missouri. She then went on to complete her General Cardiology, Cardiac Electrophysiology, and Cardiac MRI fellowships at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan. She subsequently joined a large cardiology group (ProMedica Physicians Cardiology). She was part of ProMedica Health System in Ohio where she served as the Director of the Arrhythmia clinic, ProMedica Heart Institute Board member & Heart Institute EP council member. While maintaining active cardiology practice, she took a lead in building bridges across physicians, staff and administration. She was also the Director of Education. Part of her role was to help with cardiology training of house staff to further The University of Toledo teaching affiliation with ProMedica. Dr. Tamirisa's special interests in Cardiac Electrophysiology include leadless technology, syncope, cardiac resynchronization therapy, advances in alternate site pacing & stroke prevention in atrial fibrillation. She also has interest in ablation of SVT & atrial fibrillation (cryoablation & radiofrequency), defibrillation and pacing technologies.
