Biography: Stuart Leitner, MD, is a board-certified medical oncologist and Section Chief of Medical Oncology for the Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center's Department of Medicine. He received his medical degree from the Mt. Sinai School of Medicine in New York. Dr. Leitner completed his residency at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, TX and a medical oncology fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York. Dr. Leitner is very interested in clinical research. He has published numerous abstracts and journal articles and has presented research on breast cancer at the annual meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the New York Metropolitan Breast Cancer Group, and has chaired sessions at the Annual Retreat on Cancer Research in New Jersey. He has been a reviewer for articles on breast and genitourinary cancer for Cancer, the official journal of the American Cancer Society. Dr. Leitner is a member of the New York Metropolitan Breast Cancer Group, American Society of Breast Disease and the New Jersey Commission on Cancer Prostate Research Advisory Group. He is the recipient of numerous awards and honors including being recognized in Best Doctors in America; included in the Consumers' Research Council of America's Guide to America's Top Physicians; named as a Top Doc in NJ Monthly and Inside Jersey magazines; recipient of Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center Excellence in Caring; and an American Cancer Society Diamond Ball Honoree. She received her medical degree from the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey before completing her residency in Internal Medicine at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York. Dr. Wagmiller completed a fellowship at the University of Rochester in Hematology/Oncology. Interested in clinical research, Dr. Wagmiller has been the author of numerous articles which have appeared in the American Journal of Hemotology/Oncology and the Journal of Oncology Practice. She enjoys teaching students and frequently lectures on cancer research for patients and lay audiences. She also has advanced training in health services research and cancer genetics. Dr. Wagmiller is a member of the American Society for Clinical Oncology.
