Biography: Greetings! My name is Sebastion and I have been a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor for over twenty years, a Certified Case Manager (CCM) for five years and a newly minted Certified Telemental Health Provider (CTMH). In addition to private practice work, I have spent many years as a frontline clinician and crisis supervisor. I also have several years experience in leading teams of care managers in government programs. I have formal training in several modalities but prefer Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Solution-Focused Brief Counseling (SFBC) in general. I am a lifelong student of interactive media and see therapeutic benefits in performance arts, analog and video gaming. The world is a broken place. Each of us are born as shards one piece a friend, one piece a student, another a sibling and so forth. As we absorb the world around us, we sense, we perceive, we feel and we act and splinter further into workers, lovers, parents, enemies, dreamers, victims, abusers, leaders and followers to name a few. The universe taps us on the shoulder throughout our lives as a prompt to integrate show one face, live one life and love who you are becoming. Therapy can help us recognize those shoulder taps and extract meaning from those cues. If we miss those cues, the shattered world that we live in then lives in us unless we act. As a neurodiverse mental health professional, I am acutely aware of the puppet shows required for us to be seen as OK. I want to help others find areas of control and influence that can bring contentment, purpose and insight into the chaos that surrounds us.

Biography: I believe in a client-centered approach, tailoring my therapeutic interventions to meet the unique needs and goals of each individual. Through a collaborative and empathetic process, you can expect a caring and respectful therapeutic relationship based on mutual trust and respect. I support you by creating a secure and non-judgmental space where vulnerability is considered a strength, empowerment flourishes, and goals are met so you can get your life back. I bring over four years of experience in my field, particularly in the areas of addiction and mood disorders. I am a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. I am currently earning a certification Certified Clinical Trauma Professional through IATP. Whether you're returning to therapy or embarking on this journey for the first time, please feel free to reach out.

Care Philosophy: Talkspace partners with care providers who find satisfaction in providing therapy in a way that prioritizes the client's convenience and preferences. Because all therapy takes place virtually, through messaging, live virtual sessions, or both, providers can communicate more frequently and casually in comparison to traditional face-to-face therapy. Talkspace treatment methods are supported by scientific research and are committed to non-judgmental care that is inclusive and respectful of cultural and other identities. Talkspace patients are matched with the best provider for them based on their needs and availability during the registration process. Once matched with a provider, patients may change at any time, and may contact support to request a specific provider. *The above is attributed to Talkspace and not the provider.*

Biography: I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Illinois with over 20 years of experience working with children in school settings, adolescents with chemical dependency, and adults with chronic and severe mental illness. Most of my clinical experience has been spent helping adults with serious mental illness cope with their symptoms more effectively. I have worked with adults experiencing a wide variety of symptoms, including those associated with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and schizoaffective disorder. I believe that each person is an expert on his/her own feelings, but behavior patterns are not always as obvious to the person engaging in them. I use an empathic, yet "no-nonsense" approach and help you to take accountability for your decisions and actions. I will work hard with you to find and change unhelpful behaviors, but I will not work harder than you. You hold the power and control to your own life; I will be here as a guide to help you get your momentum going in a more helpful direction. My clinical approach typically includes cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, solution-focused therapy, or a combination of them. Above all, I want to ensure you feel comfortable with me because the process of making change is not always comfortable itself. I know that there is never an issue too small for which to seek help, and if you give yourself a chance and stick with it, you may be surprised how much better you can feel.
