Biography: Hello, my name is Dr. Glover; I'm originally from San Diego, California. I received my doctorate degree from Oregon State University in Counseling with a specialty in Counselor Education & Supervision. I'm a repeat Alumni of Portland State University receiving a Masters of Science in Counseling with an emphasis on Rehabilitation and Community Counseling and a Bachelor's of Science in Sociology and Psychology. I'm a Nationally Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, a Nationally Certified Dialectal Behavioral Therapist, a Nationally Certified Addictions Counselor as well as a Licensed Professional Counselor in multiple states. I have worked in the human service field for over 20 years. My experience allows me to walk through the journey of change with my clients in an empathetic, compassionate, and understanding manner. I have worked with individuals and couples, adolescents and adults. All experiencing a range of individual issues including but not limited to trauma, depression, anxiety, anger management, addictive behaviors, parenting challenges, and career challenges. I have worked in residential, outpatient, academic, and correctional settings. My theoretical orientations are client center and individual therapy. Dialectal Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Solution Focused Therapy. I view counseling as an interactive and holistic process utilizing experiential techniques. Biography: Greetings! I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 11 years of work with people who are striving to thrive. I work through a trauma-informed lens, with a strengths-based, humanistic perspective. Those who have benefitted most from my work have experienced some trauma in their lives and are working to unravel the effects those events have had on them. I have a long history of working with those who have experienced significant domestic violence, grief and loss, and with loved ones of folks who are LGBTQIAA+. Additionally, those with PTSD, other anxiety disorders, and Bipolar have greatly benefited from their work with me. I also work with those who are challenged with addiction issues, especially if they are in tandem with other mental health issues. Together we can unravel the interconnectedness of the challenges you experience and I can support you in finding a life that is more meaningful and satisfying. My goal in my work with you is to develop a connection through which you can learn to develop trust, insight and a deeper understanding of yourself. This means at times I will work with your innate intelligence to identify and create solutions and at other times I may use what you have shared with me and my own intuition to offer advice, share observations and make suggestions. I have an eclectic toolkit that includes working with Narrative therapy, using aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprogramming (EMDR), and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy.
