Biography: Kevin D. Kravitz, MD, FACC brings a feature element to Premier Cardiovascular Institute through his specialized practice of electrophysiology. Electrophysiology, a sub-specialty of cardiology, deals with the heart's rhythm and electrical system. Dr. Kravitz graduated from the University of Pittsburgh and earned a Masters of Human Physiology degree from Hahnemann University in Philadelphia before completing his medical degree, magna cum laude, from the Medical College of Pennsylvania. After medical school, Dr. Kravitz completed an internship and a residency in internal medicine from Temple University Hospital, Philadelphia. He then went on to complete a cardiology fellowship from Hahnemann University Hospital. Following his cardiology fellowship, Dr. Kravitz entered one more year of training in electrophysiology, also at Hahnemann University Hospital. Dr. Kravitz was chief of cardiology at Dayton Heart Hospital from 1999-2009. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, and a member of the Heart Rhythm Society. He is board certified in Cardiovascular Diseases and Electrophysiology. He also serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at the Boonshoft School of Medicine at Wright State University.

Biography: Thein T. Aung, MD graduated from University of Medicine 2, located in Yangon, Myanmar. He completed his internal medicine residency at Easton Hospital in Easton, PA. Dr. Aung completed his cardiovascular fellowship at Wright State University, Boonshoft School of Medicine in Dayton, OH and his clinical cardiac electrophysiology fellowship at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, IA. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Cardiology. He is also board certified in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology. Dr. Aung is a fellow-in-training with the Heart Rhythm Society. He is a member of the American Heart Association, American College of Cardiology, American Society of Nuclear Cardiology, American Society of Echocardiography, and the Ohio State Medical Association. He is a valued member of the American Medical Association and an associate member of the American College of Physicians.

Biography: Derrick S. Porter, DO graduated from University of Pikeville, Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine in Pikeville, KY. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Norton Community Hospital in Norton, VA. Dr. Porter completed fellowships in cardiology and interventional cardiology, both from Grandview Medical Center in Dayton, OH. Dr. Porter is board certified in internal medicine, nuclear cardiology, and cardiology.

Biography: Amit Goyal, MD, FACC wants all patients of Premier Cardiovascular Institute to understand that plaque build-up can affect almost all parts of the body. Dr. Amit Goyal graduated summa cum laude from Pennsylvania State University and went on to graduate magna cum laude from the Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia. He completed his internship and residency at St. Luke's/Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York City. While serving his cardiology fellowship at St. Luke's/Roosevelt Hospital Center, Dr. Goyal was appointed one of two Chief Fellows by the Cardiology Department. He was also acknowledged as a Visiting Fellow in clinical medicine at Columbia University. Dr. Goyal is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology.

Biography: Syed Zaman, MD is a graduate of Aga Khan Medical College in Pakistan. He completed his residency in General Surgery at West Virginia University Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia. Dr. Zaman completed his residency in Cardiovascular-Thoracic Surgery at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Zaman is certified in General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery, and is also certified in Thoracic Surgery by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery.

Biography: G.S.V. Ramanathan, MD, FACC joined Dayton Heart Center, now Premier Cardiovascular Institute,after enjoying over 16 years in practice in Bedford, Indiana. In addition to his private practice, Dr. Ramanathan also served in several leadership roles, including Director of Cardiology and Director of the Catheterization Lab at Dunn Memorial Hospital and Bedford Regional Medical Center. Dr. Ramanathan earned his medical degree and completed both an internship and residency program at Kerala University in Kerala India. He completed additional training in the United States, including an internship at Louis A. Weiss Memorial Hospital, Chicago, Illinois; a residency program at Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan; and a cardiology fellowship at the Texas Heart Institute - Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas. Dr. Ramanathan is board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Diseases. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
