Biography: This physician is accepting telehealth visits. Daniel Woolley, MD, FACS, is a cardiothoracic surgeon with Cardiothoracic Surgical Associates in Richmond, Virginia. Dr. Woolley has specialized expertise in minimally-invasive robotic surgery. He also has expertise in esophageal surgery and endoscopic thoracic procedures. Dr. Woolley graduated magna cum laude from Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, where he studied chemistry and biology, and was inducted into the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa honor society, and later into the medical honor society, Alpha Omega Alpha. Following his undergraduate work, he earned his medical doctorate at Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Woolley then completed both a general surgical residency and surgical research fellowship at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School at Cooper Hospital University Medical Center in Camden, New Jersey, before moving to Richmond to finish a cardiothoracic surgery residency at VCU's Medical College of Virginia. He also completed a cardiothoracic transplant fellowship at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisconsin. Dr. Woolley is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. He currently serves on HCA Healthcare's National Thoracic Operations Council and the Blood Usage Committee at Chippenham Hospital. In addition, he is a fellow in the American College of Surgeons and an active member of the International Society for Minimally Invasive Cardiothoracic Surgery and the Society of Thoracic Surgeons.Dr. Woolley has received a number of academic and patient-focused medical awards, and participated in multiple clinical trials and research studies. He also has held several academic and professional appointments in the thoracic surgery field and has published numerous works. Special research areas of interest for Dr. Woolley include robotic surgery, and enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS).Dr. Woolley welcomes new patients and referrals
