He was a horrible therapist. I got a lot of backhanded compliments, like "You don't use big words, but you seem intelligent." He painted my partner, an abuse victim, as doomed and that "(the abuser) really got their claws in deep.", insinuating that he was hopeless. Then there was the issue of the inappropriate comments he kept making about how my partner must be "a fine specimen", and fixated on how his physical physique must impact my attraction to my partner. I fired him after that.
