Dr. Wendy Habelow is a compassionate psychotherapist who is politically well connected into the Family Court Circles in the State of Connecticut. Her rates are affordable to the extent that her hourly rate is a fraction of the rate of family law attorney and her knowledge and insight better. You don't need an attorney when you go through family court, you need a therapist to help you deal with it; out maneuver the other side or ensure that the family reorganization is as smooth as possible. She knows what she's doing.

Sound Moral Compass
Dr. Habelow is currently at Weinstein & Maine in West Hartford in an Office Building Complex. It's easy to find and parking is a breeze. Her office is small but quaint. Wendy herself is a very healthy happy well-traveled person who appears to have a healthy family relationship (Weinstein is her husband and they get along famously). However, in therapy its all about me. The patient and she serves as a great moral compas to help me deal with adversity and guide me to better places. She is creative in her approach, often seeking out reading materials, podcasts to help further. And her results speak for themselves. Her patients typically go on to become successful in life, relationships and professional endeavors.

Honest
I am a survivor of domestic violence. The court referred me to Dr. Habelow to recover from the effects of Domestic Violence. My ex-husband was ordered to pay, as restritution for his damages to me. As Dr. Habelow helped me survive and thrive and grow as a person, professional and active member of my community he tried to stop treatment. First by serving her with subpoenas in front of her clients, leaving her negative reviews and then by refusing to pay for her services. I went to court on a motion for criminal contempt to ensure she was paid and after the 6ths motion for contempt he was threatened with incarceration for interfering in my healing process. Dr. Habelow was not easily bullied and continues to provide maintenance therapy to date. She was never his therapist, psychologist, mediator or co-parenting counseler for his reviews below to carry any weight

Superb
Dr. Habelow can distill cases down to their molecular level and tease apart the issues to not just treat the presenting trauma but the underlying root cause. Dr Habelow is also extremely well educated and well-traveled and her licensure is recognized in multiple jurisdictions. I strongly recommend her.

Absolute disaster. She was heavily biased with the mother and let the mother run the show. When I asked for space to express my concerns, Dr. Habelow dismissed me and I could not even speak. When in another session mother expressed she would like to say something she is not comfortable with, Dr. Habelow responded she wants to create environment where everyone can express whatever they want. Dr. Habelow pushed me into agreements without letting me state my positions. I consulted another counselor about this experience and was told that Dr. Habelow's behavior was borderline ethical. If you want a far environment, do not use her. My kids completely lost this battle. As a father I feel unable to fight the system of oppression. Dr. Habelow is part of this system.

Frustrated Father – Feb 18, 2021

My feedback is specific to her coparenting services which I have had to attend on and off for 5 years now and I found her to be strongly biased in her world view. She pre-judges a matter without digging deep for information or thoroughly probe for answers.. and even when you provide her more data she still tries to look for details that fit her narrative. Coparenting counselling should be about solving problems.. I have serious concerns if she has a good record for actually solving family coparenting challenges because for my case, we ended in Court for all but one of the times an issue arose. I don't fault her for being a business owner and collecting her payments etc... but I do question her work ethic when it comes to doing the work of getting to the root of the challenges faced by co-parents. She has no expertise on Family Law Legal Matters which I think is very crucial for a co-parenting counselor Verdict: Don't do coparenting counseling with her!

She met with partner before meeting me, and was completely biased upon our first meeting. I feel she was angry and clearly had already made a decision about our circumstances before I could even share my version of what took place. I felt her demeanor was closed, controlling and it appears she has issues with men.
