Wakie Johnson, LPC

Wakie Johnson is a compassionate, caring and honest therapist. I may not like what she has to say sometimes, but that means I probably needed to hear it as she has always had my best interest at heart. She's taught me boundaries, coping mechanisms and how to deal with difficult situations that arise, and trust me, there have been plenty! She can be tough, but if she always said what I wanted to hear, I would still be in the same position I was in before I met her. I always look forward to my next session because she continues to teach me how to deal with my past and not let it consume me. I honestly don't know where I would be now without her. I would highly recommend her to anybody!

Wakie Johnson has truly helped me transform into a stronger better version of myself then I thought was even possible at times. She has actually helped me understand why I was repeating patterns of generational trauma that stemmed down from my family. If you are willing to be confronted on what your own problems are & face them head on Wakie will help you transform into the best version of yourself possible. But you have to be honest and willing to accept things you may not want to hear. In major life traumas that I would typically crumble in, Wakie has helped me get to a place where I am able to focus on problem solving skills that help me work my way through earth shattering situations that any person would not recover from. She has helped me go from a person who had no idea why I did what I did to a mentally tough person who knows when and how to use boundaries and regulate my emotions without any medication. I don't know what kind of person I would be without her.

Wakie is seeing my 14 year old daughter and wanted to charge me / set up an appointment to talk to me about her plan for my daughter. ( My daughters mom is talking to her ) We’re a blended family and Wakies secretary told me she’s never dealt with a dad asking for the information that was shared with my daughter’s biological mom in the 14 years she’s been there. Really?! This was after I called 3 times last week and I have still not been able to talk to Wakie. Would not recommend Wakies counseling or her staff to anyone after our experience.Update: This was over several weeks and today I got a call from Wakie. She said “I don’t have that kind of time to talk and I would need to set up an appointment to talk to her?!” She didn’t give me 5 mins to ask what the plan was for my daughter. Wow! Highly do not recommend.
