She's not the counselor you want, unless you'd like someone who cares more about making money than actually helping individuals. As a doctor, or anyone wishing to become one, you should first realize and know in your heart that what you're willing to do is incredibly selfless. Helping people? That's wonderful. By all means, do so. But this woman- like so many other doctors, has a misguided perception and would rather squeeze money out of patients and when she can't do that she'll drop you.
