Dr. Tristan Barrueco, OD

Contact lens prescription was not appropriate. He did not seem to listen to my concerns and did not explain lenses that I was prescribed.

I make the one hour drive to have Dr. Barrueco 'care' for my eyes. I tried doctors in the area where in live in Ocean, NJ, and could not find a doctor who truly cared about the well being of his patients. Then, after having cataract surgery that went bad, I found Dr. Barrueco. He explains every detail of the exam, listens for my questions and answers them so I understand. Would highly recommend him to anyone for both regular eye exams and eye issues.

First, Matossian has early evening hours ! This is a HUGE bonus over my former ophthamalogy practice. I wanted a 2nd opinion on my situation regarding occasional double vision corrected by prism lens glasses, which Matossian diagnosed and recommended a year ago, and which were working fine. A super-tech had done that diagnosis, so just to be sure that I didn't need to go further, I made an appt with Dr Barrueco who is their primo prism doc. (Prism glasses are not related at all to Matossian's parent company PRISM Vision. Confusing, huh? ) He was more thorough, and generous with his time, and obviously expert, than I'd hoped. I got specific advice and opinion, plus, he was masked, which I still do as well. It was a breath of fresh air.

I saw Dr Barrueco for my yearly eye exam and he is always friendly, professional & informative, everything I look for in a DR.

Dr. Barrueco saw me last month for somewhat of an emergency after the handle of a large plant clipper fell into my eye. I was extremely worried about this trauma. From the start of the examination, he tried to put me at ease. He examined my eye very thoroughly and found no damage. It was such a relief to learn this. Both he and his staff were consistently professional and thoughtful. I would recommend Dr. Barrueco without reservations.

Dr. Barrueco was very efficient with my diagnosis and was spot-on regarding my symptoms. He warned me about taking care of my dry eyes and staying on top of them to prevent any further damage. Most importantly he's fast and gets the job done promptly.

This doctor heard my questions, investigated answers by delving more deeply into the exam or history records and then explained what I needed to know in an understandable and reassuring way. Dr Barrueco always took the time to reiterate the protocol that I needed to be following and elicited my reassurance that I was doing as prescribed. The final vision assessment for glasses was the best and most precise I have ever experienced. I highly recommend Dr Barreuco for any of your eye care needs.
