Tracy McDonald, LCSW

Tracy was my therapist for almost four years at Kaiser. Great professional, she addressed my concerns in a very calm manner and always listened closely. Over the years she was attentive and sure to emphatize during hardship as much as she celebrated my milestones. Her wisdom has been my guiding light all these years. I met her as a depressed, insecure, anxious mess, and I left with a new found confidence I've never had before. My depression has been under control, even through recent personal tragedy, and my home life enjoys a balance I hardly see in other relationships. I would gladly recommend her as a therapist to any of my friends.

I honestly feel like my mental health took a hit after my appointment with Dr. McDonald. She came in totally unprepared, having not read the detailed file from my intake session, and then spent the majority of our appointment downplaying the issues I was experiencing (anxiety, depression). She insisted these are issues everyone has and literally asked if I’ve tried just being “less emotional.” After spending 30+ minutes dismissing my feelings, she then suggested that I could consider medication. So, in her mind, my issues were both so commonplace that I should just get them under control and, simultaneously, serious enough to warrant discussion of medication. Her lack of support, insights or compassion has made me hesitant to speak to other therapists. I strongly suggest avoiding an appointment with her if possible.
