I saw Dr. Funk in February for a routine eye exam. She told me I had glaucoma which was of course very unsettling and unexpected. She put me on eye drops to reduce pressure on my optic nerves. I mentioned going to an ophthalmologist for a second opinion, and she got snippy with me. Red flag. I went to an ophthalmologist in St. Louis who specializes in glaucoma thinking I wanted to simply ensure the dosage of the drops was correct. I was floored when she told me that not only do I NOT have glaucoma, there is absolutely nothing to even suspect it. She also said the drops had actually lowered the pressure in my eyes to a level below normal and that I should stop taking them immediately. If this eye doctor ever diagnoses you with glaucoma seek a second opinion before you do anything. Better yet see someone else.

Stiff bedside manner. Uncompromising and lacks understandings. I had been wearing soft, lovely, sleep-in contacts for years, but they're not for astigmatic patients. Turns out I had VERY, VERY, VERY slight astigmatism and she wanted to prescribe me different lenses. Let me tell you, these lenses were as rigid as her. I tried them for a while and after all the dryness, burning, and redness, I finally gave up. I returned to her and said I wanted my old contacts, even if it sacrificed my vision (very slight difference). She refused. I ended up getting my prescription information from her and ordering the ones I wanted from 1800contacts. Never saw her again. Very happy
