There were many red flags during my one session with this therapist, but these were the most important: (1) Ignored or deflected questions and criticism as evidence of my own problems and misperceptions (and/or what she really meant all along) without backing it up; and (2) Refused to take "No" for an answer when I tried to terminate. The first made her an unreliable reality check (who pushed me to accept her as a superior one), and the second showed she had an agenda other than my well-being and would pursue it at the expense of my confidence, agency, boundaries, and therapeutic priorities in addition to my wallet. Both were confusing and destabilizing from someone I'd felt safe confiding in--but they alerted me to other patterns of manipulation that only became obvious in retrospect. Overall, she's skilled at creating emotional rapport, but lacks the competence, understanding, critical thinking, and strong ethics that would make "trust" more than a pleasurable feeling. Caveat emptor.
