I would NOT recommend this nurse practitioner. She handled a well-visit with my 8yo autistic son very unprofessionally. She & other staff acted like they needed special approval when he wouldn’t take off his shoes for a weigh-in & the assistants were forceful in attempt to check his hemoglobin & pricked his finger before he consented to it. When I told them “Ladies, enough!” they backed off but warned me the visit would not be covered by insurance w/o this “required” test. He was so upset that he felt faint & vomited after they left the room. Ms. Stewart later told me she called Billing & had to make notes that he is autistic in order to have the visit covered w/o the test. She later was forceful & warned me several times the visit would not be covered without the testicular exam, which my son did not want. She was insistent & performed the exam while he struggled & screamed. They do NOT know how to work with autistic children & do NOT respect personal boundaries & comfort levels.
