Dr. Steven Benson, PHD

I would never ever recommend Dr. Benson. He has done more harm than good. He is out of touch with reality. According to him, young boys acting their age and doing boy things is terrible and I am a terrible parent for playing games and legos with my kids. He is clearly from another planet. No matter what you do, he will tell you that you have all of these mental health issues.

Dr. Benson is very much a veteran psychologist. That is reflected through his combination of passionate expression for the science, ability to translate concepts and terminology to match the patient's ability to comprehend, and especially in the scoping and breadth of considerations during conversations and the process of diagnosis. As with all interpersonal experiences, your mileage WILL vary, but I would contend that anyone's experience interacting with Dr. Benson is as much a reflection of themselves as it is a measure of him. As an adult suffering from a mistrust of "mind altering medications," I was nervous about any diagnosis at all. His process for diagnosing my ADD was clearly explained up front and the realization of that process matched. He was clear that he likes to target smallest dose with desired effect, and reminded me that he can only diagnose and make treatment recommendations, not prescribe medication. Both helped ease my nerves. Highly recommend!

Guy is a complete quack and lets you know he is the smartest one in the room.

Dr. Benson really helped me understand my underlying issues, and helped me reframe my perspective. He's wonderful at challenging you to change your responses to triggers and stressors.
