It’s deeply troubling when a psychotherapist, whose role is to create environment for their patient, fails to manage their own behavior and mood professionally. Steve wanted me to end the therapeutic relationship simply because I questioned him on his grumpy mood and some unhelpful advice. He screamed at me and brought me to tears during our last session. Therapy should be a space where patients feel empowered to express their thoughts and emotions freely, even if that includes not agreeing with the therapist. His reaction left me feeling dismissed, invalidated, and even more mistrustful of the therapeutic process. The sad thing is I believed for over a year, that he cared and wanted to help. He never even referred me to another therapist or allowed me to see him again. He told me not to contact him again.

Stay away from this man! It has now been almost a year since he ruined my relationship with my daughter! His “therapy” was to tell her to “take a break from relationships”! A therapist is supposed to HELP a client to speak to others, NOT cut them off!!! Apparently he is “treating” my daughter, her husband, also marriage counceling AND group therapy! He is just raking in the money! He is not helping! If you are looking into therapy FIND A REAL PSYCHOLOGIST and NOT A SOCIAL WORKER!

Steve Hauptman is the best at what he does... He couldn't save my marriage but he saved my sanity! Thank you Steve!
