Dr. Stephen Timchack, PSY.D

We hired Dr Timchack to help with Forensic Psych work. His knowledge and expertise in writing the report was excellent. All parties concerned in reading and reviewing the report accepted his report.

Dr. Timchack took the time required to ably analyze and address the very serious issues presented by my case. I was unfortunately involved in a near death experience and incapacitated for several months, losing my mobility and independence. My association with this exceptional professional began with an evaluation through the VA. After 5yrs active duty in the USMC, 2yrs in combat, receiving 3 Purple Hearts, I entered academia, & followed that with 40yrs in the Medical profession. I had already been seen by 2 other Phycologists, but only made my problems worse. After a 4hr session with Dr. Timchack, I not only felt much better, believed that this was a truly gifted practitioner who not only related to his patients, but did so in a nonjudgmental atmosphere that was very settling and welcomed. I have been with Dr. Timchack for over 5yrs and made great strides, enabling me to live a much fuller non stressful life, that has carried over into all of my interpersonal relationships, including my 25yr marriage & many everyday difficult situations which together we have handled and moved forward. I feel very privileged to be under the care of this Amazing Practitioner & would recommend him to anyone who wants the VERY BEST!

Dr. Timchack was extremely thorough in his initial screening and testing. He listened to what I was saying and pretty much understood after a short time what issues were at hand and how to test and evaluate the situation to address them. He is nonjudgmental and listens. He puts you at ease and is non threatening. I felt l could be entirely open with him which I usually do not allow myself to do with many people who I have not know for a long time.

I've been working with Dr. Timchack for an extended period of time focusing on trauma, depression and self worth. Sometimes I see him weekly, monthly or quarterly; it all depends on how often I need to refresh my coping and self regulation skills. Dr. Timchack's qualifications and experience with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy has made the therapeutic process manageable. Dr. Timchack has effectively communicated empathy with me during our sessions by actively listening to my concerns and validating my feelings. Dr. Timchack fosters a safe and non-judgmental environment allowing me to explore my emotions with an open mind.Dr. Timchack is flexible and accessible and responds promptly to my inquiries and appointment requests often accommodating my unusual schedule.I'm always making progress. My mental health has improved greatly, and I’m grateful for his support.

Fantastic. Life-changing. He's insightful, engaging, caring, & brilliant. He was able to pinpoint & explain the flaws in my thinking in such a way that I saw the flaws in my logic as well. He taught me practical, useful techniques to correct those defects. I went to him about ten years ago for a few months, & I still use the skills he taught me which have become second-nature at this point. I've recommended many of his techniques to many others. If I had to pick just one thing he taught me, it's the principle of "Sometimes it's not about me; not at all, not even a little bit." Prior to his counseling, I would routinely analyze events to decipher what I did to contribute, good or bad, to a particular outcome. He simply but astutely pointed out that at times a particular occurrence has ZERO to do with me, aside from me being present. It's obvious in retrospect but this "paralysis from analysis" was such an ingrained pattern that I was blind to it. Yes, I recommend him highly!
