My spouse went to see this therapist for help with managing his anxiety condition. Rather than giving him the coping tools he sought, she advised him to “reduce stress” by moving out of our family home to a more peaceful environment (our home was/is generally happy but we do have young kids and the chaos they bring). I am sure in a sense it could be less stressful, as any parent of young kids can attest, but this was catastrophically unwise advice that seriously jeopardized our marriage and family. I think it borders on malpractice not to have considered his happiness and well-being in the context of a loving family system and instead to approach happiness solely through a shortsighted version of self-actualization. We are now pursuing therapy with another practitioner to try to undo the damage. I have never left a review like this before but I think people should be warned that there is a dangerous lack of wisdom and ethics and (I mean this gently) an immaturity as a practitioner.
