My father suffered a stroke and Dr. Chesbro visited a few times during his stay to provide updates on my dad’s health progress. We appreciated that he took the time to listen and respond to our questions. When he learned that our health insurance had approved only skilled nursing care upon discharge rather than acute rehabilitation, which was the recommended plan of discharge among all the hospital specialists (neurologist, cardiologist, physical, speech and occupational therapists), he worked with the attending physician to convince our health insurance plan to approve acute rehab. My dad is on day three of his inpatient therapy, and is already showing greater strength in his impaired limbs, and is working toward becoming independent again. I and my family are so grateful for Dr. Chesbro’s advocacy to get my dad in the appropriate level of care. Keep up the good work, Dr. Chesbro!
