Dr Leiserowitz has changed my life. She has worked with me through significant trauma and loss. She has opened my eyes to the dynamics behind behaviors and long-standing patterns, always adapting her tools to meet me where I am. I searched for the right therapist for a long time, looking for someone who was intelligent and insightful, and not pandering or pedantic. Dr Leiserowitz has a flair for psychology that is unique and inspiring.

I've been a patient of Smadar's for just about a year now, and I really enjoy our sessions - she seems to get me in ways that previous therapists haven't. She offers very poignant insight and advice; I look forward to many more conversations with her in the future!

Psychologist
I have had sessions with Smadar for several years. I have significantly improved challenges in my life and looking forward to be able to fully transition into a better emotional state. Smadar is knowledgeable, she is non-judgmental, and honest. She is an expert in what she does and demonstrate that she care. Smadar is versatile and demonstrated cultural and diversity competency in helping me through my challenges. Flexibility in scheduling was also a plus. I highly recommend Smadar.

Dr. Leiserowitz is great!
Dr. Smadar Leiserowitz is really great. She is friendly and easy to talk to. She helped me dig deep into my issue and understand it. She also gave me a few methods to use when faced with my issue. This helped me tremendously and I was able to see results very quickly, in a matter of a few sessions with her. I highly recommend her.

Life Changer
The title is “life changer” because my life has been transformed through Smadar’s brilliant and insightful talks. After every session, without her knowing, I’m left with “brain homework” which adjusts my perspective overtime. She is a caring person. And for many, many years, she’s been the only one in my corner. It’s something I will take into several lifetimes. Thank you Smadar!

A Very Warm and Perceptive Therapist
Found Smadar through the Psychology Today website. Initially went to her for marriage counseling, later came back to her for individual therapy and even recommended her to my mother went she was going through a difficult time. I found Smadar to be very WARM and EMPATHETIC, and also very perceptive. She is not one of those people who tells you that “you’re okay” and “everything’s going to be okay” — she was not afraid to drop some truth bombs that I didn’t want to hear but that turned out to be 100% on the money. Maybe of lesser importance, but she was also okay with doing telephone or Facetime sesions, which I found super convenient and timesaving (as I didn’t have to go to her office each time). Really, I have had great experiences with her and only have good things to say. Definitely would recommend.

Spent out time together complaining about my insurance, and how they ripoff doctors. Cuts me off when I'm talking, not a great listener. Asked me to pay for some services out of pocket even though she is in- network.

I was there for under 10 mins, I left the min she said she does not have time for patients in crisis.... insurance and pay isn't enough. To treat me she needs someone who isn't in crisis because if something happens she can't be answering the phone or dedicating Time. She also said the pay from insurance isn't good enough to see a person in crisis. Appalling.

The psychologist is responsive and very articulate. I was not sure, during a tryout period, as to the therapists 'neutrality'. Though I am grateful for an adjusted fee, I can state there's a question about a supportive presence. At this point/age one can sense the difference between a 'clear path' at a session, or weather the patient is absorbing the providers own issues. Then, finding a truly highly qualified therapist could be doubtful (not always).
