After 5 years distance, I can say with more clarity that Shirley did in fact help to destroy many relationships in my life. She told me to distance myself from my little sister, who no longer speaks to me. She encouraged me to sleep with many of my coworkers as a young woman, and enabled my heavy drinking at a critical time in my life when I needed help. I remember her once saying "I love talking about your life, it's like a soap opera!" She didn't care about me as a client. She would leave our sessions for 15 minutes to go get coffee, and would charge me for the full hour. One day, she just completely ghosted me and wouldn't answer my calls or pick me up for her schedule. I was totally lost and without a therapist for 2 years, when I was admitted to WP for a complete breakdown. It took years to put my life back in place after the "guidance" that she gave me.

Totally ineffective therapist who made things with difficult mother in law worse. When she saw the damage she did to the relationship she just declared that this was the last session without any attempt to remedy the situation she contributed to. It was the worst decision we could have made in regards to repairing the relationship. I advise against visiting her for your issues.
